lobal biopharmaceutical company Ipsen has appointed Pierrick Lefranc as Executive Vice President of Technical Operations and a member of its Executive Leadership Team, effective April 1, 2026. He will succeed Aidan Murphy, who is retiring after three decades with the company.

The appointment marks a planned leadership transition within Ipsen’s technical operations function. Lefranc will assume responsibility for global manufacturing, engineering, and operational excellence activities across the organization.
Aidan Murphy, the outgoing Executive Vice President of Technical Operations, will step down at the end of March 2026 following a long tenure that included leading Ipsen’s global manufacturing strategy and operational footprint.
Pierrick Lefranc’s Experience in Technical Operations
Pierrick Lefranc brings more than 30 years of experience in the pharmaceutical and life sciences industry. He has held senior leadership roles focused on manufacturing operations, industrial performance, and large-scale transformation initiatives.
Since July 2019, Lefranc has served as Senior Vice President at Ipsen, overseeing worldwide manufacturing activities, engineering functions, and enterprise excellence programs. He joined the company in 2013 and previously led the Signes manufacturing site in France.
Strategic Importance for Ipsen
In his new role, Lefranc will report directly to Ipsen Chief Executive Officer David Loew and will be based in Paris. His appointment reflects Ipsen’s focus on continuity, operational rigor, and long-term execution as the company advances its strategic priorities.
Ipsen operates globally with a focus on specialty medicines in oncology, rare diseases, and neuroscience. The elevation of Lefranc to the Executive Leadership Team underscores the company’s emphasis on strong technical operations leadership to support growth and innovation.
